Retinol is One of the Most Scientifically Researched Skincare Ingredients – and for Good Reason

It is considered the gold standard in anti-aging and also offers pore-refining, brightening, and antibacterial benefits.

Our high-performance Retinol Serum stimulates cell renewal, boosts collagen and elastin production, refines pore structure, and visibly reduces wrinkles, pigmentation, and scars – all while strengthening the skin barrier for a smoother, more even complexion.

Important: Retinol is highly effective – and should be introduced gradually. Start with 2–3 applications per week in the evening, then slowly increase both frequency and product amount as your skin builds tolerance.

Retinol in Your Evening Skincare Routine: A Must-Have in Medical Skincare

Retinol is a powerful ingredient in skincare, especially in evening routines. As part of the retinoid family, it is known for its deep-acting effects and its ability to visibly reduce signs of aging. In medical skincare, Retinol is widely used not only for mature skin but also for blemish-prone skin due to its numerous benefits.

How Does Retinol Work on the Skin?

      • Neutralizing free radicals – In the dermis (middle skin layer), Retinol neutralizes free radicals, preventing cell damage.
      • Stimulating collagen production – Boosts collagen synthesis, leading to firmer, smoother skin and reduced wrinkle depth.
      • Regulating sebum production – Helps control excess oil, refining pores and balancing the skin.
      • Strengthening the skin barrier – Thickens the skin, increasing resilience against external stressors.
      • Accelerating skin renewal – Promotes cell turnover, supporting the skin’s natural regeneration process.
      • Brightening pigmentation spots – Helps fade discoloration for a more even skin tone.
      • Maintaining hydration levels – Supports the skin’s moisture balance, leaving it soft and supple.
      • Speeding up scar healing – Encourages scar recovery, contributing to a smoother skin surface.
      • Exfoliating properties – Has gentle peeling effects, promoting radiant, refined skin.

With its multifaceted benefits, Retinol is an essential step in any advanced skincare routine, unlocking a more youthful, clear, and even complexion over time.

At What Age Is Retinol Suitable?

Retinol is primarily used to reduce visible signs of aging, making it particularly beneficial once fine lines, enlarged pores, or pigmentation spots start to appear—typically around the age of 30. However, our Retinol Serum can also be used earlier, especially for treating blemish-prone skin.

How to Introduce Retinol Into Your Skincare Routine

To avoid irritation, Retinol should be introduced gradually, allowing the skin to adjust to its powerful effects.

      • Week 1–2: Start by applying Retinol Serum 0.3 every other evening for the first two weeks. After cleansing and before applying your night cream, use a small amount of the serum. Be sure to protect your skin during the day with an SPF-infused moisturizer like the Anti-Pollution Day Cream.
      • From Week 3: You can now use Retinol Serum every evening. If your skin tolerates it well, you may gradually increase the amount to 2–3 pumps per evening. If you have sensitive skin, be extra cautious and increase the concentration slowly.

By following this approach, you can maximize the benefits of Retinol while minimizing potential irritation.
