Eleonora Berger - The Young Spirit behind the brand

From an early age, I was extremely curious and ambitious, but not in an intense way. I simply wanted to know more, to understand more – but only because I wanted it, not because anyone or anything pushed me. For me, education means freedom. It goes hand in hand with independence and self-realisation. Everyone knows that knowledge is power. What I have learned, no one can take away from me.

That is why I always gave EVERYTHING, immersed myself in subjects more deeply than many others and was genuinely interested in everything happening around me. Of course, there were many challenges along the way, especially because I did not fit the norm and was excluded by many people for years. But I always told myself: “You can do it! Do not let anyone take away your joy of learning or your right to education. With passion and discipline, an incredible amount is possible!”

And in the end, I really did it – thanks to my mother and grandparents, who stood by me through thick and thin and supported me with advice and practical help.

My passion for the world of beauty was primarily sparked by my mother, Dr. Luise Berger. I was always by her side and was able to witness her professional development, her achievements and many personal experiences.

From an early age, I understood how closely one’s outward appearance can be connected to one’s own wellbeing and self-confidence. I was always particularly impressed by how much it can mean to a person to feel comfortable in their own skin again.

As a quarter Japanese, I also noticed during my many visits to Japan how highly skincare is valued there. The consistent skincare routines and the importance of a well-cared-for, healthy complexion have always fascinated me. When my mother had the idea of founding her own skincare line – one based on high-quality, effective active ingredients and at the same time pursuing a conscious clean-beauty approach – I was immediately enthusiastic.

My own teenage years also brought personal skin concerns, such as dry and blemish-prone skin. Talking with friends and other teenagers who had similar concerns strengthened my desire to make a difference even further.

Now that I am building DOC BERGER EFFECT together with my mother, it is not only about beauty for me. It is about a mission: everyone should have the opportunity to feel comfortable in their own skin.

1. Do not touch the pimple: As tempting as it may be, squeezing or constantly touching it can further irritate the skin, worsen inflammation and increase the risk of post-blemish marks. Give your skin some time to calm down instead.

2. Cleanse your skin: Gentle but thorough cleansing is the foundation for blemish-prone skin. The combination of cleansing foam and tonic helps remove excess sebum and impurities and prepares the skin for the skincare that follows. Foam Intense and Tonic Intense can be suitable choices, especially for oily, blemish-prone skin.

3. Choose targeted active ingredients: Our Purifying Power Serum was developed specifically for skin prone to blemishes and an uneven complexion. With selected active ingredients such as Azeloglicina® and tranexamic acid, it can improve the appearance of blemishes and post-blemish marks. It is used in the evening after cleansing.

4. Exfoliation – but in moderation: An fruit acid peel with AHA and BHA can help remove dead skin cells, clear clogged pores and prevent new blemishes. Once or twice a week can be beneficial if your skin tolerates it well. However, if areas of skin are acutely inflamed, open or severely irritated, you should avoid intensive exfoliation.

I start every morning by cleansing with Foam Intense and Tonic Intense to remove excess sebum and impurities and prepare my skin for the skincare that follows. I then use the Hyper Hyaluron Serum, which intensely hydrates my skin, visibly plumps it up and softens fine lines and wrinkles. I then apply the Four Seasons Day Cream with SPF 50+, which hydrates my skin and protects it from UV radiation every day.

In the evening, after cleansing my face again with the foam and tonic, I apply the Purifying Power Serum. With its carefully selected active ingredients, it supports my blemish-prone skin and helps the complexion appear more even over the long term.

Then, depending on my skin’s condition and tolerance, I use one of our retinol serums. For me, retinol is a true all-rounder in active skincare: it can support skin renewal, refine the appearance of enlarged pores and soften fine lines and irregularities in the complexion.

To finish, I use the Ultra Rich Night Cream, which intensively supplies my skin with moisture and lipids overnight and supports its natural skin barrier.

In addition, once or twice a week I use our 10% Fruit Acid Peeling, provided my skin tolerates it well. This removes dead skin cells and supports a smoother, more even-looking complexion. On those evenings, I avoid retinol so as not to irritate my skin unnecessarily.

Start early with a skincare routine that suits you! Skincare is definitely not something that only becomes relevant from your mid-30s onwards. It is not about following a complicated or time-consuming skincare routine or using as many anti-ageing active ingredients as possible at a young age.

What matters far more is getting to know the needs of your own skin and caring for it properly from the start. Just like daily habits such as brushing your teeth or showering, skincare should naturally be part of everyday life. Taking a few minutes in the morning and evening for gentle cleansing, moisturising care and daily sun protection can make a big difference in the long term.

Active skincare is an investment in yourself. The key is not using as many products as possible, but choosing the ones that really suit your skin – and using them consistently.
